Call of Duty League Power Rankings entering Stage 2

by Nerd Street Gamers

With Stage 2 of the Call of Duty League schedule set to get underway on Thursday, teams have a chance to push reset and begin anew. That means you can toss the standings out the window for the time being at least, because it’s all about who possesses the momentum right now.

You probably won’t find many huge discrepancies at the top or bottom of Nerd Street Gamers’ initial round of CDL power rankings. The middle is a wide open though and shows there’s plenty of room for teams to rise and fall in the stage ahead.

12. London Royal Ravens

0-6 W-L record 0-6 | 7-18 map record | 0 CDL points

To be fair, their team is incomplete. Trei “Zer0” Morris hasn’t played a game yet, Alex “Alexx” Carpenter missed the major, and now Paul “PaulEhx” Avila will sub for Zer0 replacement Christopher “Parasite” Duarte.

11. Seattle Surge

1-5 W-L record | 7-17 map record | 10 CDL points

They could maybe overcome a winless record in Control if it weren’t for the fact they’re also 3-7 in Hardpoint.

10. Paris Legion

2-4 W-L record | 11-14 map record | 30 CDL points

Their record doesn’t tell the whole story, as Paris have been competitive in almost every match this season. Keep an eye on Ulysses “AquA” Silva — the emerging star is ranked fourth in CDL with a 1.11 kill-death overall and was one of our players to watch entering the Stage 1 Major.

9. Toronto Ultra

3-5 W-L record | 15-20 map record | 30 CDL points

With an 0-3, 2-9 record against opponents with winning records, Ultra lack a statement win. They haven’t been able to get anything going against top teams whatsoever.

8. Minnesota ROKKR

3-3 W-L record | 12-11 map record | 40 CDL points

Since their Week 1 upset over Dallas, the ROKKR have been aggressively average, feasting on bad teams (Seattle and London) while losing to anybody with a pulse (New York and Toronto).

7. Florida Mutineers

3-5 W-L record | 14-18 map record | 30 CDL points

Florida showed signs of life in the major, knocking off Seattle and Paris, then taking New York to five games. The Mutineers could stand to improve at Search (3-6) given Joseph “Owakening” Conley’s dominance there (1.37 K/D).

6. Los Angeles Guerrillas

3-5 W-L record | 12-19 map record | 50 CDL points

Remove matches against the top four teams from the equation and LAG is a respectable 3-1, 10-6. Their Hardpoint game is a mess though (4-9 overall), which could prove hard to overcome.

5. Los Angeles Thieves

5-3 W-L record | 16-13 map record | 70 CDL points

After a hot start, the Thieves’ stock is falling. They’ve lost three of their last four matches (4-9 map record) and haven’t beaten a team with a winning record since opening weekend.

4. New York Subliners

6-4 W-L record | 20-16 map record | 80 CDL points

The good news is NYSL appear on the verge of solidifying their spot among the top-four teams. The bad news is there’s still quite a bit of distance between them and the other three, their upset over OpTic notwithstanding.

3. OpTic Chicago

6-3 W-L record |22-13 map record | 80 CDL points

All of OpTic’s defeats are at the hands of fellow top-four squads — and they’re the only team that has given FaZe a run for their money head-to-head.

2. Dallas Empire

6-3 W-L record | 22-17 map record | 100 CDL points

Two of their losses are to FaZe. It might just be a championship hangover, but the defending champs appear vulnerable, requiring five games to put away London, New York and Chicago, and dropping a match to Minnesota.

1. Atlanta FaZe

8-0 W-L record | 26-8 map record | 125 CDL points

Until an opponent comes up with an answer in Search & Destroy (11-1), Atlanta will remain undefeated.
