Localhost Lowdown: May 2019

by n3rdstgamers

Every month, we give you the lowdown on some of the best events and tournaments coming to Localhost Arena in both Philly and Denver. From bootcamps to big prize pots, check out what’s happening this month.

Localhost Arena Philly

Big Things

NCS Minor CSGOMay is the month of Minors at Localhost! National Championship Minors, that is. On Saturday, May 11th, Localhost Philly will throw down for CS:GO. We’re inviting all Counter-Strike players down to compete for your share of the $2,500 prize pool.

We’re also hosting an NCS Minor for Overwatch on May 25th – 26th. You’ll definitely want to practice with your team because you’ll be fighting for your share of a $5,000 prize pool! This will be the first Minor we’ve organized for Overwatch, and we can’t wait to see you all there.

NCS Minor Go For Broke

Go For Broke, the monthly FGC tournament, is on the schedule again for May, and this time we’re AGAIN making it part of the NCS as a Minor tournament with a $2,500 prize pool.

We kicked off our Tekken meetup last month, and it was a huge success. We’re keeping Iron Phist going in May with the Tekken peeps invited down on May 3rd, May 17th, and May 31st.

Localhost Arena Denver

Big Things

Overwatch is coming to the Rocky Mountains in a big way. We’re setting up an Overwatch boot camp on May 4th as a prelude to our $2,500 NCS Minor for Overwatch on Saturday, May 18th.

Everyone is welcome to come and spectate the NCS Minor for Overwatch. Not only is it one of the top games in esports competition, it’s one of the most watched on Twitch.tv.

League of Legends is swarming Localhost Denver with not one but TWO events in May! We’re putting together a little 1v1 on Sunday, May 5th and a larger Academy LoL tournament that’s part of the NCS on May 26th.

Smash Ultimate, Apex:Legends, Hearthstone, and Fortnite are all on the ticket for May.  Every Friday in May, you’ll see tournaments for both Fortnite and Smash Ultimate. On top of that, every other Saturday we’re organizing Apex tournaments, while every other Sunday you’ll find our Hearthstone Fireside Gatherings.  Check out Lobby.gg or localhost.gg for recurring event details.

Fostering a strong and vibrant female community is very important to us, so on May 15th, we’re hosting another Ladies Night at Localhost Arena Denver. Between 6pm and 12am, women are invited to play for free!

Dungeons and Dragons

We also think it’s important to foster a vibrant hero community, that’s why we’re starting our Dungeons & Dragons events this Month! We’re hosting two D&D one-shot games. If you’ve never rolled a d20 but always felt the blood of the Bard flowed through you, try out our campaign for beginners on May 29th. More advanced players can open their spell books on May 30th with a one-shot tailored more to your expectations.

On top of that, we’re bringing back the Lock In! Last month, we locked the doors and kept it old skool with mini-tournaments, watch parties, and giveaways ’til the break of dawn. Sign up for May’s Lock In on Lobby.gg!

Outside and Online

Outside of Philadelphia and Denver, we’re heading to sunny California as we team up with Emuhleet for a Frag For First CS:GO tourney, part of the National Championship Series.

Stay up-to-date on all event details by visiting Localhost.gg and Lobby.gg regularly.
